Non-ablative skin rejuvenation procedure is available at our clinic in Richmond Hill.
Non-ablative Skin Resurfacing and Soft Tissue Coagulation are the revolutionary procedures made possible by advancement in modern medical laser technology. The equipment used in our clinic offers both superior results and little to no downtime.
The Lux1540 hand-piece, used in non-ablative skin resurfacing, emits fractional micro beams that penetrate deep into the epidermis and dermis for effective, long-term results. The fractional, non-ablative approach stimulates quick healing with no long-term redness.
Fractional non-ablative procedures do not require long preparations and clean-up time. No dye is used during treatment and the appointment is relatively short. Overall, appointments are quick and convenient for your schedule.
What areas can be treated?
Fractional non-ablative procedures can be performed on most areas of the body, including the face, chest, arms, and hands.
What skin conditions can be treated?
Fractional non-ablative technology improves appearance of the skin and can help to improve or remove such conditions as:
- acne scars
- wrinkles
- scars from healed wounds, burns and surgeries
- melasma
- stretch marks
- dark pigment spots, age spots
- freckles and sun spots
What happens during the procedure?
The Lux1540 hand-piece delivers an array of narrow, focused laser "microbeams" to create columns of coagulation within the skin. These columns initiate a natural healing process that forms new, healthy tissue. As new tissue is created, the skin appearance is improved.
What can I expect after the procedure?
You may experience redness, warmth, swelling, or tightness in the treated area, which typically fades within a few hours of the treatment. The skin may often have a pinkish tone for 5-7 days. Generally, you can receive a treatment and go back to work or to other activities without any recovery time.
With our "easier on the skin" fractional non-ablative process, the light pulses are confined to narrow columns in the skin, allowing for a quick-healing process. Some people notice positive changes in skin appearance within a few days.

How many procedures are needed?
A series of treatments at 3-6 week intervals may be required to achieve the desired results. We individually assess each patient and adjust regimen accordingly for best possible outcome.
What makes the fractional, non-ablative procedure used in your office different from other skin resurfacing methods?
Some skin resurfacing devices, such as CO2 lasers, use the ablative method, which removes the epidermis and some of the dermis. While good results are eventually seen, the drawbacks include red and raw skin, down time and a risk of infection for several weeks following treatment.
Our device uses the non-ablative method: sending light pulses into the epidermis and dermis, while leaving the stratum corneum in place. This allows for quick recovery.
How much will it cost?
The price of fractional non-ablative laser procedures depend on the area being treated. To receive individual pricing information, please make an appointment with our staff.
