Lips are considered the most sensual part of human body. Most often lips are the first ones to loose volume and elasticity on the face.
You can easily look more youthful and attractive simply by replenishing lip volume. At our clinic, lip augmentation procedure is performed using injections of filler compounds containing either hyaluronic acid or collagen.
Both substances are part of normal skin structure and are responsible for tissue volume and elasticity. Injected filler stays in place and provides shape and support for lips for up to 12 month.
How the procedure is done?
Injections are done by Dr. Robertus with very fine needles directly in lips. Pain of injection is controlled by dental nerve block which is performed before procedure. Ice packs are applied to the treated area for 10-15 minutes at the end of the procedure. You may return to your usual activities immediately after procedure.
Is this procedure for me?
Suitability for this procedure is determined by physician during your visit to our clinic, however, you should bear in mind that you cannot have filler injections if:
- you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- the skin in the sites of planned treatment is infected;
- you bleed easily
- you take anticoagulation or anti-inflammatory medications (have to stop 5 days before)
- you take vitamin E (have to stop 5 days before)
- you are allergic to component to specific filler
What to do and expect after injections?
Following the procedure you
- must avoid touching and should not massage injection points for 2-3 hours;
- do not sleep on your stomach, semi-upright position for sleep is recommended;
- do not bite lips;
- you can use make-up in 1 hour after injections.
You may experience bruising and swelling of lips which should last no more than 1 week. It is recommended to apply ice packs to injection site several times a day for 10-15 minutes. Generally, effect of injection lasts for up to 12 months and gradually diminishes as the filler will be naturally absorbed by your body.
